glennans™ are the largest manufacturer of hand cooked vegetable crisps in the UK and Europe, not bad for a family business from Staffordshire! Run by brothers and sister Richard, David and Sarah, we produce fantastic crisps of the highest quality.
The glennans™ brand was launched in 2004 as our first own brand of products. We felt it was time that we made our award winning vegetable crisps more readily available to Chefs and other gastronomes, in fact we are so proud of our creations that we decided to put the family name to them.
Over the years the brand has gone from strength to strength in the Foodservice market and Chef has found countless ways to include glennans vegetable crisps in their recipes.
We only do natural here at glennans. So, naturally we deal with the seasonal variations in taste, texture and appearance that freshly grown crosps bring.
For example, in early spring, parsnips will taste sweeter and look slightly darker compared to those taken from the ground and fried in July and August.
This is because, our parsnips are stored in the ground throughout the year to ensure maximum freshness. So when it starts to warm up again in early spring, they start to grow again and produce sugars again….
… and so when fried, these sugars caramelises to give that sweeter taste and slightly darker apperance.
But one things is for sure this seasonal variations only make our glennans vegetable crisps even better and even more natural!
